STS-133 Landing - Space Shuttle Discovery Completes Final Mission To Space

www.aresinstitute.org - Just before noon on Wednesday, March 9, space shuttle Discovery and its STS-133 crew returned safely to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Discovery and its six-astronaut crew spent 13 days in space. During their trip, they performed two space walks and delivered the Permanent Multipurpose Module, and the Express Logistics Carrier 4 (ELC4) to the station. This was Discovery's 39th and final flight to the complex, concluding an illustrious 27-year career. Throughout its tenure, Discovery spent 365 days in space, orbited Earth 5830 times and traveled 148221675 miles.
