Shuttle Endeavor Launch Postponed

The shuttle Endeavor's final launch into space has been postponed due to technical problems. Hundreds of thousands of spectators were expected along the central Florida coast to watch the launch at the Kennedy Space Center, including the first family and Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, whose husband Mark Kelly is the Endeavor commander. It would have been Giffords' first appearance in public since she was shot in the head in January. The Endeavor will be delivering a 7-ton Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer to the International Space Station that will help search deep space for antimatter and cosmic rays. Endeavor's mission is the penultimate for NASA's shuttle fleet, which will be retired this year after 135 trips into space.
